Helena Brodnik Žugelj

Helena Brodnik Žugelj received her PhD at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana in 2017. During her PhD studies she was a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto (Ontario, Canada) in the research group of prof. Mark Lautens for 5 months. After completing her studies, she became a teaching assistant at the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana. Her main research interests are developing novel and efficient synthetic methods for the activation of inert C–H bonds by employing various transition-metal complexes for the synthesis of structurally complex heterocyclic compounds of biological value and also studying the mechanistic background such transformations.
